SYMPHONY X MAILING LIST
SymX (the Official Symphony X Mailing List) is an interactive discussion list that's comprised of a community of Symphony X fans. List members send their messages to a specific email address, which in turn distributes the message, along with any others that have been posted, to all users who are members of that mailing list. The list members discuss Symphony X, progressive metal, music in general, and much more.
A FAQ file will be sent to you automatically upon joining SymX; PLEASE read it and familiarize yourself with the rules and guidelines for posting before you send your first post to the list. It is your responsibility to know the rules; not having read the FAQ is no excuse for breaking them. Once you've read the FAQ, feel free to send a post introducing yourself & giving us a chance to welcome you!
This mailing list is basically unmoderated. This means that members are relied upon to ensure that their posts are appropriate to the subject at hand. Much leeway is given regarding subject matter (aside from topics that we have learned from experience are best avoided, & have as such made off limits), as threads sometimes tend to wander away from the original subject, and progressive metal is a large and encompassing subject. This is not to say that anarchy rules on SymX; we have a staff of moderators in place who participate AND are there to make sure everyone plays nice; offenders will be warned and/or removed. The basic question to ask oneself is, 'Is my post designed to piss people off and create barriers, or is it designed to further an enjoyable conversation?' Let your conscience (and the FAQ) be your guide... and ENJOY!
